6×6 started over 7 years ago with the intention of helping young and upcoming goalies interested in playing the position, but couldn’t afford going away to goalie camps out-of-state. At that time, the state’s economy had taken a nose dive leaving many folks either out of work or finding it difficult to fund their kids interest in playing sports (lacrosse). The thought of even sending their kids away for a lacrosse camp became extremely challenging, leaving many goalies in the dark without any hope of receiving quality expert instruction.
In 2009, Director/Instructor, Brad Gigliotti paved the way for success by providing expert goalie instruction to goalies, without breaking the bank , in the comfort of the student’s own backyard. He started the 6×6 Goalie Academy as a way for students to receive proper goalie instruction without parents sending their kid out-of-state to a camp they couldn’t afford. He thought “if the parents are finding it difficult to send their kid to camp, why not bring the camp and all of its instruction to the student?” That’s when the 6×6 Goalie Academy was born. Cutting the travel cost out of the budget and applying it to personal 1 on 1 lessons at a location that is convenient and more suitable for the student that will aid in increased opportunities for instruction.
6×6 assures that “No Goalie Will Be Left behind” in the state of Michigan. If there is a goalie in need of instruction and is willing to put in the hard work and dedication, believe that 6×6 Goalie Academy will be there to support their attainable goals. Every goalie deserves an opportunity to improve their skillset as a goalie.
