Danny joins the 6×6 Goalie Staff with years of playing and coaching experience. Danny played high school lacrosse at Forest Hills Central (Ada, MI) from 2006-09. He made varsity his freshman year and started all four years in goal. Danny set new FHC, and personal best, records while in goal for best save percentage and most saves in a season.Those records have yet to be broken as of 2016.
Danny was voted 3rd team All State his freshman year, 1st team All State his last three years as well as All-American his last two years. After high school Danny earned a scholarship to play for the University of Detroit Mercy (NCAA D1). Danny played a back up role for UDM, however he had the opportunity to get playing time against the University of Maryland. He ended his NCAA D1 career at UDM with 8 saves and 1 goal against and earned himself a Coaches Award.
Danny transferred the following year to play at MCLA (D2) powerhouse Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI) where he was the starting goalie. Danny played two years for the Lakers and earned All-American honors both years. Danny found himself in the National Spotlight by making ESPN’s Top Ten for scoring a goal against Davenport University (Kentwood, MI) in the semifinals of the National Championship. Danny ended his playing career his Junior year due to his commitment to his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army National Guard, where he currently serves as a second lieutenant.
6×6 gained a valuable asset in Danny as he brings a wealth of knowledge and energy. Danny is extremely passionate about the sport and goalies. Danny not only grabs the attention of his students but also maintains their focus. He adapts well to each individual student and approaches the game from a more current perspective. He is our “Communication” Specialist as he communicates well in and out of the cage.
